Department The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) supports the academic development of teaching at the University by:
- advising on course, assessment and curriculum design
- enabling the adoption of new technology and digital resources
- assisting in piloting new teaching methodology. We support the most valuable teaching practices at the collegiate University and provide guidance for students and staff as they adopt new practices. The Implementation Officer will be the main contact for stakeholders using the Assessment Centre for Excellence (ACE). ACE aims to enhance assessment practices, policy, and processes ensuring they are accessible, inclusive, and clear for all staff and students. ACE supports a collaborative environment to share insights, access resources, and promote staff and student well-being around assessments. - Membership to a variety of social and sports clubs, The Implementation Officer (Assessment), will play a crucial role in supporting the collegiate University in implementing new systems, policies, and processes around assessment. They will establish and maintain close relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, coordinating logistics for project activities. By managing expectations and collaborating closely with the ACE team, you will ensure that users receive the support they need to improve assessment at Oxford. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that communications regarding change and implementation activities are delivered to users. They will design and develop a repository of project material and a focal point for stakeholders and the project team. Additionally, they will provide comprehensive support for all project activities within CTL, EPS, Registry, Departments, and Colleges. This includes preparing stakeholders for the transition to new ways of working, implementing new business processes, and providing advice. They will also play a vital role in project management activities, ensuring that project deliverables are aligned with the assessment cycle and reporting progress to the Oversight Board, the Operational Group and other relevant groups. Meticulous attention to detail will ensure that documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately, contributing to the overall success of the project.
Your proven experience in administrative roles, particularly in project support, implementation coordination, academic administration, or communications, will ensure your ability to manage and support various activities effectively. Adept at using a variety of business-related systems you will quickly adapt to new tools, ensuring smooth transitions and efficient operations. Your experience in complex environments with parallel and mutually dependent activities will help you manage this multifaceted project. Working effectively as part of a wider team should be one of your core strengths. A proactive, 'can do' approach to every task, will allow you to contribute positively to team dynamics and project outcomes. Your excellent interpersonal skills and ability to listen will enable you to build strong relationships with colleagues from different parts of the University, including academic, professional services, administrative, and IT staff. You will take responsibility for a range of tasks, ensuring that you interact and cooperate effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals. Finally, your excellent written and verbal communication skills, will allow you to relate confidently and effectively to users at all levels communicating an exciting new vision for technology-enabled change that will convey this enthusiasm to others.
