An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Royal Mail as an Import Onboarding Manager. Reporting to Senior Import Process & Solution Manager, the Import Onboarding Manager leads the new import business opportunity pipeline and import onboarding process, ensuring seamless start to finish onboarding process, regulatory compliance, and exceptional client service.

Your role will drive efficient and compliant importation of goods, strengthen relationships with import clients and internal stakeholders, and enhance operational efficiency. Join us in delivering a superior import onboarding experience that fosters trust, satisfaction, and long-term partnerships.

About the role

  • You'll build and maintain strong relationships with key import clients, serving as the primary point of contact for onboarding-related inquiries and support.

  • You'll manage BAU onboarding pipeline, track and analyse key performance indicators related to import onboarding, such as onboarding timeframes, client satisfaction, and compliance metrics, and take proactive measures to address any issues or areas for improvement.

  • You'll ensure adherence to customs regulations and procedures throughout the import onboarding process, providing guidance and support to clients to facilitate smooth customs clearance.

  • You'll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including customs clearance teams, legal advisors, and IT specialists, to streamline processes and resolve complex import onboarding issues effectively.

  • You'll oversee the accurate and timely completion of import-related documentation, including import contract, side letter, customs related documents and varies onboarding form, to facilitate smooth onboarding experience.

  • You'll support Senior Import Process & Solution Manager, continuously review and refine import onboarding processes to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, unlock blockers, and improve overall customer experience.

  • You'll support customers with product trials as required so full launches can take place maximizing the business revenues.

  • You'll support Import Pricing team on various pricing enquiry as part of the customer onboarding journey

    To excel in this role you will have the following skills & experience

  • Excellent relationship builder internally and externally, proactively able to pull together parties from disparate functions to realize opportunities.

  • Excellent communicator able to work sensitively and persuasively with internal and external parties across international borders.

  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation, compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to Royalmail's quality standard

  • Strong planning skills and flexibility to adapt to change.

  • Good knowledge of international trade, e-commerce market characteristics and trends is preferred.
