Full Job Description

As the Import & Raw Material Controller, you will manage a fast-paced raw material supply process, with the unique opportunity to define and implement new procedures to enhance production continuity.

You'll be at the heart of our operations, working closely with internal teams and building positive relationships with external suppliers, customs brokers, and hauliers to ensure timely delivery and compliance.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify documentation for each imported material requiring customs clearance, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Generate detailed Import Instructions and maintain meticulous records to adhere to AEO requirements.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, customs brokers, and hauliers, ensuring smooth processes and adherence to delivery schedules.

  • Oversee Material Requirements Planning (MRP), ensuring all necessary materials for manufacturing are ordered on time.

  • Manage Purchase Orders, ensuring excellent documentation and housekeeping standards.

  • Coordinate with 3rd party warehousing to ensure prompt and accurate feedback on all deliveries.

  • Monitor and manage Procurement, Warehousing, and Supplier Performance KPIs.

  • Collaborate with Nutritionists to understand and meet new material requirements.

  • Import customs clearance experience.

  • Managing relationships with hauliers and customs agents

  • Previous experience in planning/procurement

  • Knowledge of Brexit implications, import rules, and customs procedures (Desirable)

  • Collaborating on compliance matters

  • Ability to prioritise tasks, and a desire to develop within the procurement field.

  • Experience in stock management, supplier management, and import requirements (Desirable)

  • Studying towards or holding CIPS or IOE qualification (Desirable)

  • In-depth knowledge of AEO status requirements and Preferential Trade and Origin (Desirable)

  • Understanding of animal nutrition. (Desirable)

  • Experience with customs documentation, Incoterms, and international VAT.(Desirable)
