Full Job Description
Wiltshire College & University Centre is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for an Inclusion Coach to join our team. This role is essential in supporting students with learning differences, such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, as well as other specific learning difficulties and disabilities. Inclusion Coach - Key Responsibilities:
- Personalised Support: Work closely with a caseload of students, ranging from pre-entry to Level 3, who have declared learning needs such as ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and profound and multiple learning difficulties. Provide tailored learning support aimed at closing gaps in achievement and retention.
- Educational Integration: Assist students in integrating into the classroom environment, ensuring that the curriculum is accessible and tailored to their individual needs. Collaborate with Inclusion and Support Managers to arrange transition support for new learners and attend Year 11 annual reviews at local schools.
- Empowerment and Independence: Enable learners with support needs to access learning and college facilities, helping to build their confidence and independence. Aid in their preparation for and transition into and out of the College.
- Safeguarding: Safeguard and promote the welfare and well-being of learners, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support provided, ensuring it meets the learner's needs and supports their progress toward achieving their full potential.
A strong educational background, including Maths and English at Level 2 or above - Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and creatively
- A deep understanding of how to support students with specific learning difficulties such as ASC, ADHD, and SEMH is crucial to their success.
