Full Job Description

Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.

Hybrid role 1/2 days in the office, however for the right candidate would consider remote working.

Base - The Portal Ellesmere Port.

Competent with databases - training given.
Manage and chair Statutory SEND Panels including delegated funding for individual pupils with severe and complex needs.

Manage the nursery to primary transition process.

Regular contact with parents / carers / schools / nurseries / health and social care.

Deliver training / messages / information when appropriate to stakeholders parents / carers.

Act for the Council in difficult and contentious cases, prepare the Council's case in defence of parental appeals to the SEN Tribunal and attend mediation meetings on behalf of the Council.

Manage and develop the statutory assessment process to ensure it is carried out in line with service policies and SEN legislation to the standards and timescales expected in the SEN Code of Practice, ensuring that EHCP's conform with legal requirements and are clear, comprehensive and helpful. Additionally, placement/provision/transport arrangements are made efficiently and cost effectively.

Work with other managers within the Council and education.

Attend team leader meetings

Ensure the maintenance of an accurate and comprehensive local database of children involved in the statutory assessment and statements process and ensure regular feedback to the central database as required.

Notwithstanding the detail in this job description, the job holder will undertake such work as may be determined by the Manager from time to time, up to or at a level consistent with the Principal Responsibilities of the job.
