Full Job Description
As a result of the exciting growth within Zurich Corporate Risk, we are looking for an Income Protection Technical Case Manager to join us on a permanent basis. What will you be doing? As a Technical Case Manager, you will support the management of income protection claims for members who have been absent from work for a prolonged period of time. You will guide and support our team to effectively manage claims and identify suitable resolutions where appropriate. You will build trust-based relationships with a portfolio of customers and be required to manage a caseload of claims. You will review and assess progress of members throughout their absence, conducting proactive reviews of claims in payment, determining whether members are accessing appropriate treatment and support to achieve an optimum recovery. You will work with the team to discuss and move forward resolutions on appropriate cases, liaising with our Rehabilitation Team where indicated. You will be required to use your medical experience and expertise to drive positive outcomes, communicating effectively and sensitively with vulnerable customers, which may also necessitate some difficult conversations.
- Experience of managing long term illness and injury either in a clinical or case management setting
- Medical background desirable
- Experience of successfully supporting people back to work
- Working knowledge of a wide range of medical conditions and appropriate treatment pathways
- Passionate about customers and driving through Continuous Improvement
- Ability to cope with varying workloads, pressures, and priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to quickly establish professional and effective working relationships with your customers
- Able to communicate effectively and sensitively with vulnerable customers, which may also necessitate some difficult conversations
- Excellent judgement and decision-making skills

- Able to manage difficult and contentious conversations
