Got a passion for social media and online content creation and looking for an incredible and unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people? As an Independence Skills Promotion and Development Officer you will join the Future First Wandsworth Leaving Care Service. This is a chance for you to join our incredible Personal Advisors and multi-agency colleagues as we transform outcomes for Care Experienced young people. In this role you will lead on developing and delivering a dynamic Independence Skills offer to our young people, via creating engaging Social Media content and Online Resources, workshops, direct support and enthusiastic networking. If you are passionate about making a difference by supporting care experienced young people on their housing journey, we encourage you to read on! About the role You will work closely with Wandsworth Council Housing colleagues as well as the young person's Personal Advisor and our other 5 specialist Housing Colleagues within the service, to ensure that our young people have the very best opportunity to succeed in their Independence Journey. You will oversee the smooth running of 2 of our shared houses, supporting the tenants to manage and maintain the properties themselves and to facilitate house meetings. Building a significant resource library of online and in person options for young people to develop their independence skills your goal will be to prevent housing difficulties and support them to achieve positive outcomes. This role entails regular liaison with external and internal partner agencies and extremely proficient social media, organisation and interpersonal skills. With clear Key Performance targets, an enthusiasm and a passion for supporting young people is key. The post entails some flexible working with limited evening work when required in line with service participants availability and duty arrangements. Working arrangements are 18 hours a week.
- Enthusiasm and passion for supporting young people.
- Experience of identifying safeguarding concerns and risk management.
- Experience of supporting young people and/or vulnerable adults in an accommodation related setting is essential.
- Strong social media and digital media skills including experience of content creating.
- Good communication skills (written and spoken).
