Full Job Description

As an Independent Living Officer you will be responsible for the day to day running of a City Council Independent Living scheme, for this role the scheme in Carnforth- Gummers How is a CAT1 scheme, which includes constitutes of 76 bungalows and flats , communal lounge and gardens., At Lancaster City Council we aim to have a diverse workforce that is representative of the district that we serve and provide a working environment where each employee feels able to bring their whole self to work. You must be capable of demonstrating a sincere commitment to the support of older adults, possess good organisational, customer focused and social skills and be of a calm, patient disposition with the ability to respond quickly and efficiently in an emergency situation, whilst under pressure. An understanding of community care and the ability to deal with any situation, as and when it arises, in an efficient and effective way, is essential.
