Full Job Description

This is an opportunity join us in delivering a high quality service, improving the lives of children and young people in Redcar and Cleveland and placing children and young people at the heart of everything we do.

As an Independent Reviewing Officer you will be responsible for providing an excellent service within our Children and Families Directorate, for Children in our Care within the Authority and Children at risk of significant harm. You will be responsible for chairing Child Protection conferences and Children in our Care Reviews, exercising scrutiny and oversight of the Local Authority's planning and challenging the Local Authority and partner agencies where necessary. You will strive to bring about excellent outcomes for our children.

You will be part of an experienced, knowledgeable and supportive team with access to a wide range of training and development opportunities.

Redcar and Cleveland's Independent Review Unit continue to partake within the ROTH Pilot working alongside Durham University. We are excited to say that you will be provided with opportunity to work within the pilot, as we continue to strengthen a contextual safeguarding pathway to support some of our most vulnerable children and their families.
