Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a Industry Placement Assessor to join our Childcare and Counselling department at Tresham College.

As an Assessor, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Overseeing the implementation of The Bedford College Group Work Experience policy and ensure high-quality industry placements for students in the Health, Care, and Early Years Department.

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with industry providers, employers, stakeholders, and awarding body moderators to facilitate effective placements and observations.

  • Collaborating with the Business Development, Careers teams, and curriculum to ensure the successful delivery of the careers plan, logging of placement details, and coordination of Employer Advisory Boards.

  • Organising and Conducting visits to employers for student observation and assessment, ensuring all visits are well-documented and communicated with relevant parties.

  • Providing support and guidance to students in their placements and assessments, helping them achieve their full potential and ensuring all activities are completed efficiently and in line with college policies.

    Level 3 relevant qualification in Health/Early Years or equivalent

  • Assessors' qualification or willingness to work towards

  • GSCE Maths and English (grades A - C) or equivalentSuccessful experience of providing training, assessing and/or education to young people and/or adults

  • Up to date knowledge of the current developments in own specialist area

  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role

  • Understands how to implement effective strategies to develop and increase partnership opportunities for working with employers and community stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated, compassionate, and have strong interpersonal skills which encourages participation, innovation and confidence.

  • Current driving license and access to a vehicle

    The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
