Full Job Description

To provide specialist clinical practice skills in the management, diagnosis and treatment of individuals with infectious and tropical diseases.

To identify patient care pathways and to work closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialist to ensure appropriate nursing support for patients with infectious diseases.

To provide specialist knowledge and to act as a resource for the generic nursing workforce.

To work both under supervision and autonomously and foster effective relationships with others across and within professional boundaries.

in addition, other key responsibilities include:

o Establish and maintain effective communication with all members of the MDT including consultants and outside agencies.

o Ensure good communication verbally and via formal documentation and electronic sources with all members of the nursing, multidisciplinary team. This to be within the trust, PCT, patients, relatives, external agencies such as immigration department, public health, social services, GPs, practice nurses, nursing homes, community nurse specialists.

o To be responsible for the management of own case load and work within an MDT across all directorates and departments within the trust

o To be responsible for the assessment and case management of individual patients and to provide their care needs, implement and evaluate care plans and ensuring high standard of evidence-based care.

LNWH is looking for one enthusiastic and motivated band 6 nurses to join our Infectious Diseases Assessment Service

1x Band 6 IDAR Nurse

The successful candidate will join an experienced multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the provision of specialised care within the department of Infectious Diseases.

The successful applicants will require post registration experience ideally within infectious diseases, however this is a great opportunity for individuals coming from an acute care background to develop new skills.
