Full Job Description

Position will be offered as a secondment if coming from an NHS Organisation / a fixed term contract if coming from an outside organisation.

Secondment / Fixed Term until 31 March 2025.

The Digital IG Advisor will support the IG Team and the wider ICB, ICS Partners and GP Practices with implementation of digital systems - the main interaction with which will be via Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).

The role will also be the lead for the roll out of our new system with which to deal with Records of Processing Activity, Prove Privacy, delivering training to and working with the newly appointed ICB Information Asset Owners and their Administrators to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities as IAOs, have updafted and reviewed their ROPA activities on the system.

The role may be asked to support any element of the IG Teams workplan, providing reports to the IG Steering Group, or other work as necessary.

Hybrid working - predominantlyhome and some working from our Basildon office

Main duties of the job

Contribute to the delivery of one or more strategic plans, enabling key milestones to be delivered and raising any issues associated with the delivery of plans and workstreams.

  • To provide technical expertise in the formulation of policies and procedures relating to use of Clinical systems, Information Sharing, Information Governance, Data Collection and Data Quality.

  • To understand and apply the principles of NHS Information Governance policy and its relationship to information and its management, the practical issues associated with the capture and exchange of clinical and health-related data and coordinate and manage issues around Data Protection, Information Security and Freedom of Information.

  • To identify information related organisational risks to the organisation and offer recommendations to minimise potential adverse effects.

  • To support projects and carry out project management support as necessary to implement targets required to meet national and local information governance requirements.

  • To represent the interests of the ICB on various groups as requested.

    Mid and South Essex ICB is a statutory organisation responsible for the planning and delivery of local health and care services, across Mid and South Essex and is part of the wider integrated care system. Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) are partnerships of health and care organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined up services and to improve the health of people who live and work in their area. The headquarters for the organisation is Phoenix Court, Basildon, but there is a hybrid model of working, which includes working across Mid and South Essex and home working.
