Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a Information Governance Specialist to join our Security and Information Team.
The purpose of this role is to perform Ofsted’s information management and governance function, ensuring advice is given to Ofsted parties to ensure that data risks are identified and managed appropriately to support the effective delivery of Ofsted’s business. In doing so, to work closely with security colleagues across Ofsted and in the wider government community, making sure the appropriate information security standards are maintained.

You will also be asked to provide information within the “Employer/Activity History” section of the application form. This information is equivalent to the information you would provide on a CV setting out your career history (this may be used in the sifting process).
Interview
Candidates who pass the benchmark at the shortlisting stage will be invited to a interview where you will be assessed against a combination of the the Civil Service behaviours and the technical/experience skills set out in section 3 of the job specification.
Interviews will be held during the Week commencing 14 October 2024 via Microsoft Teams.
Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.

Security
Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check.
People working with government assets must complete baseline personnel security standard (opens in new window) checks.

Technical skills
We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:
+ Excellent communication and problem solving skills, with an ability to advise, support and guide a wide range of stakeholders.
+ Excellent knowledge of Information Security standards and experience of its practical application, in addition a good working understanding of UK Data Protection, related legislation and codes of practice.
+ Experienced at building strong, effective and successful working relationships, whilst maintaining high standards, understanding organisation boundaries and collaborating with internal & external stakeholders.
