We are recruiting an Information Security & Compliance Manager, who will have a high degree of responsibility for Information Security and Compliance processes at the NIHR BioResource. A large part of the role consists of working on the NHS Data Security & Protection Toolkit, now aligned to the NCSC Cyber Essentials standard. NIHR BioResource is a unique and powerful resource for studying disease mechanisms and for investigating the links between genes, the environment, health and disease, enabling scientific discoveries as well as facilitating translational medicine for the benefit of patients. About the job: A key deliverable for this role is the demonstrable implementation of the various applicable Information Security and Compliance policies, along with completion of audit, compliance and other related exercises. Your duties will include:

  • Information Security - Best practice / Security Operations / Incident Response
  • Audit & Compliance - Overseeing NHS DSP Toolkit / Cyber Essentials Plus / ISO 27001
  • Communication & Policy - User Awareness / Policy compliance / Phishing Simulation Exercises

    Your experience should include:
  • NHS Data Security & Protection (DSP) Toolkit / Cyber Essentials compliance
  • Working in the healthcare / life sciences / research environment, handling sensitive data
  • Using a mixture of in-house, vendor-supplied and public cloud services

The post is available on a fixed-term basis until 30 November 2027 in the first instance. NIHR BioResource is funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR). Once the NIHR has confirmed further funding, expected in January, employment contracts will be extended to 31 March 2030. Our offices are on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus CB2 0QQ (approximately 2 miles south of the city centre).
