Your Role
As an Infrastructure Claims Officer, you will handle insurance claims from the public against Suffolk Highways, as well as claims initiated by Suffolk Highways against third parties. You will gather and compile relevant information to support the County Council's Insurance Team or the Highway Services Contract provider's insurance representatives in resolving, refuting, or recovering costs for claims in a timely and cost-effective manner.
You will also take responsibility for your personal development, motivation, performance, and wellbeing, ensuring adherence to health and safety policies, procedures, and management techniques., Claims Management: Oversee the full claims process for all claims, ensuring timely financial recovery and effective investigations.
- Evidence Gathering: Collect and validate evidence from various sources, collaborating with highway asset managers to support claims with accurate reports.
- Financial Recovery: Manage cost recovery for particular claims, including estimating costs, invoicing, and providing financial forecasts.
- Legal Collaboration: Support legal teams by preparing strong cases, ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines and data protection laws.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with data protection, and handle reporting, FOI requests, and performance management.

You will need
- Attention to Detail: Manage claims, collect evidence, and ensure accuracy in documentation while maintaining confidentiality and complying with the Data Protection Act.
- Investigative Skills: Investigate incidents, assess liability, and build strong cases based on thorough evidence collection.
- Communication: Liaise effectively with claimants, insurers, legal teams, and stakeholders to ensure clear and accurate information exchange.
- Financial Acumen: Manage cost recovery, financial reports, and budgets with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
- Customer Focus: Understand and meet claimants' needs, delivering excellent service and ensuring positive outcomes.

Join our dynamic Insurance Claims team, where you'll play a key role in investigating and processing claims. You'll be part of a collaborative and supportive team of 3 Infrastructure Claims Officers, working closely with an experienced line manager.

£26.421 per annum (pro rata if part time)
