Full Job Description

Methods is currently looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Azure Stack Hub environment, as well as the physical networking and cabling that underpins our data centers. You will work closely with cloud architects and system administrators to ensure seamless integration and performance across both cloud and on-premise systems.,

  • Azure Stack Hub Management:


  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of Azure Stack Hub resources.

  • Integrate and manage services like Entra Governance within the Azure Stack Hub environment.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of hybrid cloud environments.

  • Implement security measures in line with best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant standards.


  • Physical Network Setup:
  • Rack and stack servers, switches, and other hardware required for both Azure Stack Hub and traditional on-prem environments.

  • Pull, terminate, and test network cabling (CAT6, fiber optic) ensuring high standards of physical network integrity.

  • Manage power distribution, cooling, and physical security within server rooms and data centers.


  • Data Center Maintenance:
  • Perform regular maintenance checks on both cloud-integrated and traditional on-prem systems.

  • Document network layouts, cabling diagrams, and equipment configurations, ensuring up-to-date records for audit and compliance purposes.


  • Infrastructure Support:
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, network engineers, and security teams to support the overall IT infrastructure.

  • Provide hands-on support during network upgrades, data migrations, and the deployment of new services within the Azure Stack Hub.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and connectivity issues promptly.


  • Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all infrastructure elements, including both cloud and on-premise components.

  • Ensure all configurations and setups comply with organizational security policies and industry regulations.


  • Project Involvement:
  • Participate in the planning and execution of projects that involve hybrid cloud environments, including the expansion of Azure Stack Hub services.

  • Work closely with vendors and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.

    Strong hands-on experience with Azure Stack Hub, including deployment, configuration, and management.

  • Proficiency in integrating and managing services like Entra Governance within hybrid environments.

  • Extensive experience in on-premise networking, including racking and stacking servers, and pulling/terminating network cabling.

  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud infrastructure, including on-prem and Azure integration.


  • Experience:
  • Proven experience working in data centers with both cloud-integrated and traditional IT environments.

  • Experience managing and supporting hybrid cloud solutions, particularly with Azure Stack Hub.

  • Solid understanding of networking protocols, security best practices, and troubleshooting in both cloud and physical environments.


  • Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Stack Hub Operator, or equivalent experience.

  • Network+ or Cisco CCNA certifications are a plus., Demonstrates strong technical expertise in both cloud and on-premise environments.

  • Is comfortable working hands-on with physical infrastructure while also managing cloud-based systems.

  • Has a proactive approach to learning and staying updated with the latest in hybrid cloud technologies.

  • Can effectively collaborate across teams to ensure seamless infrastructure management.


  • This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK.
