Full Job Description

Based at either of our customer's sites near Huntingdon Cambridgeshire or West London, you will be responsible for overseeing the specification, configuration, installation and delivery of Hardware and Infrastructure supporting the P-ITSM programmes. DV clearance, or the willingness to achieve Developed Vetting clearance is required. Accountable to the Chief Engineer, as part of the Engineering Leadership Team you will lead the infrastructure engineering team, liaise with the Project Technical Lead Engineer, the Engineering Delivery Manager, The Network Manager, The Asset Manager, The Core Services Technical Lead Engineer and the Security Manager to ensure that all elements of the Infrastructure are correctly designed, created and provided such that infrastructure build out and delivery supporting system acceptance into service is functionally correct, to best practise and seamless.,

  • Co-ordination and team leadership of the Infrastructure engineering team across the various projects that underpin the P-ITSM programme.
  • To liaise with the Solution Architecture team in support of the selection of appropriate and relevant equipment and capabilities in the delivery of the design elements of any new or updated infrastructure components.
  • Work with the procurement team to identify and inform the necessary equipment purchase
  • To ensure that the system Infrastructures designed & built to the appropriate standards.
  • Working with the Project Technical Lead engineer and the project Scrum Master, you will ensure that Engineering artefacts necessary for acceptance have been produced in accordance with the agreed outcomes from the Planning Increment against the agreed set of AGILE User Stories
  • To lead the creation, update and delivery of appropriate design artefacts in support of the hardware and infrastructure components of the P-ITSM programme of works.
  • Co-ordinate with the Security team such that all necessary artefacts have been provided and at a suitable maturity level to allow offer into service delivery team
  • To be responsible for and to co-ordinate with the Engineering teams such that
  • The infrastructure designed and delivered meets the program requirements; and
  • all necessary design, implementation and test artefacts have been provided and at a suitable maturity level to support delivery into service
  • Be responsible for the correct specification of hardware, operating systems and operational software meeting the program needs.
  • Ensure that the Acceptance criteria both functional and non-functional for infrastructure have been
  • clearly identified;
  • articulated and agreed with the stakeholders; and
  • demonstrably met.
  • To maintain the baseline reference architecture designs
  • To provide and manage the production and pre-production infrastructures supporting the development, test and release of components into the live operations.
  • To attend the Engineering Review Board for Continuous Improvements suggestions to the baseline architecture via Change Request.
  • To work with the Obsolescence Manager to support the identification of imminent obsolescence issues and to identify suitable replacement components to inform the obsolescence policies managed by the Obsolescence manager.
  • To support the Test Manager and Test teams in the production and execution of test plans for infrastructure components.
