Full Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative workface at an exciting and challenging time.
The role holder will manage and maintain the core infrastructure that underpins production services. Demonstrating the technical knowledge and leadership skills providing second- or third-line support for incidents, problems and changes to solutions and services.
Being responsible for preparations and support of IT operations solutions and services - physical or virtual - according to industry and organisational best practices, standards, service requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) throughout the product life cycle.
Responsibilities
Include but not limited to:
+ Leading a shift team comprising of Infrastructure Operations Engineers.
+ Provide specialist technical support and assistance to projects, ensuring delivery of non functional requirements and continual service improvement.
+ Diagnose and prioritise complex incidents, investigate their causes and finding resolutions.
+ Working on your own initiative.
+ Taking responsibility for large and small changes.
+ Analysing and resolving service delivery issues.
+ Follow and/or contribute to the development of documented processes.
+ Monitor technology performance and identify opportunities to improve it – continual improvement ethos.
+ Develop and maintain good relationships with stakeholders across the business.
+ Work as part of a team to provide knowledge, help and advice.
+ Develop own skills and actively coach and develop others.
+ Develop an understanding of DVLA's services., Interviews will be held week commencing 24th October 2024.
This interview will be conducted on site at DVLA, Swansea. Further details of which will be provided to you should you be selected for interview.

The successful candidate is required to be available on a rota basis to undertake work within a shift system covering 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. An indicative shift allowance of 35% is applicable.
A Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%
