Full Job Description

This is a 12-month secondment/fixed-term contract designed to support the Breakthrough Innovation team in creating new, globally launched products. This position focuses on liquid development, working within the Research & Development laboratories where ideas take shape. The role provides critical support to ensure projects meet the highest standards of consumer satisfaction and quality, reporting to senior specialists or line managers., Research & Development: Conduct assigned experiments under supervision, assisting L4 and L5 scientists/engineers to drive project success.
- Experimentation: Perform tests and experiments using established lab/pilot plant procedures while following best practices.
- Equipment Management: Operate relevant scientific equipment and maintain a safe and clean personal workspace.
-Data Recording & Reporting: Maintain accurate, complete records in laboratory notebooks and follow established documentation procedures. Communicate research findings clearly in both verbal and written formats.

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent proven experience.
- Entry-level role suitable for candidates with an Engineering or Applied Science degree or recognized technical qualification.

Technical Leadership Expectations:

- Organizational Impact and Influence: Work under Project Lead direction and collaborate closely with the technical team, demonstrating adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Decision Making / Problem Solving: With guidance, troubleshoot issues, recommend solutions, and utilize technical information from both colleagues and external sources.
- Communication Skills: Articulate research results clearly in both spoken and written formats, maintaining detailed records.
- Independent Judgment: Manage workload proactively and seek guidance when priorities are uncertain. Plan and execute detailed experimental procedures within project timelines., Discipline-Specific Skills: Show proficiency in core disciplines like chemistry, physics, biology, or mathematics, and adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Laboratory Technician Skills:Independently conduct experiments after training, manage lab equipment setup and maintenance, and report findings accurately to the Project Lead.
- Business Capabilities: Demonstrate strong communication skills and proficiency with tools like Word, Excel, and Outlook. Show meticulous record-keeping, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively within diverse teams at pace. Handle basic budget functions such as raising purchase orders, ordering materials, and managing goods receipt.
