Full Job Description

We are at a pivotal time in our growth and a rare opportunity has arisen, we are looking for Innovation Leads join our UK Strategy & Innovation team. Permanent and fixed term opportunities are available. The position will require regular travel between our key sites at Nottingham, Coventry and London, enabling collaboration and engagement across our network, with the benefit of a hybrid working arrangement.

Here's what you'll be doing

The Flexibility market has been identified as a key strategic focus area within our UK Strategy. This role is critical to enabling us to deliver on this priority and secure E.ON UK's future success.

This leadership position within the UK Strategy and Innovation team, involves leading the analysis and proposition formulation, on a Flex category. Key activities involve experimentation, trialling, pivoting, and proving these strategies, and ultimately scaling them when the conditions are right.,

  • Market Expertise: Be the expert in your flex category, staying updated on technologies, innovations, and market trends.


  • Lead the Development and Execution: Spearhead the development and execution of a flex category such as, I&C flex, Community flex, B2C flex, heat flex, EV flex).


  • Roadmap Development: Develop and agree on the flex proposition roadmap, prioritising initiatives based on their customer desirability, viability and feasibility.


  • Innovation Delivery: Drive initiatives through the entire innovation delivery process using methodologies like Agile working and Rapid Assumption Testing.


  • Performance Tracking: Track, measure, and report on flex innovation projects, capturing learnings and forming proposals.


  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, keeping them informed of progress and roadblocks.


  • Collaborative Relationships: Create strong relationships with teams and departments to understand customer needs and ensure successful delivery.


  • Business Model Development: Develop business models, monetisation options, and secure resources for testing concepts and prototypes.


  • Partnership Formation: Form partnerships to test and trial business models, managing commercial arrangements.


  • Mentorship: Mentor innovation specialists and foster a collaborative environment.

    Experience in innovation delivery, with a proven track record of success,


  • Strong familiarity of innovation processes, e.g. Agile working / Rapid Assumption Testing.


  • Understanding of customer-centric design principles and methodologies, including experience translating customer insights into propositions or actionable plans,


  • Excellent project and experience in externally launching products or services,


  • Ability to build, lead and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver at pace,


  • Proven problem-solving track record using creative and innovative approaches,


  • Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and attention to detail


  • Relevant energy sector or energy adjacent knowledge and experience.
