In a world of increasingly complex tax legislation, our clients need to understand how the evolving tax landscape impacts their business. As a trainee in Innovation Tax, you'll work with our dynamic clients to help them benefit from tax reliefs which exist for innovative activities. This will involve working with companies across a range of industries that are doing scientific or technological research and development (R&D) of some kind, or that have developed innovative inventions capable of being patented. From food and drink, automotive engineering, video effects, pharmaceuticals, and high street banks. You'll gain exposure to innovative market leading businesses, and often some pretty cool cutting-edge technologies too. Please note, we are unable to sponsor visa applications for this role. Our Tax practice is comprised of over 15 different teams with over 40 partners, working with clients in sectors including, media and entertainment, technology, finance and not-for-profit. The Innovation team is a multi-disciplinary dedicated team of tax, accounting, engineering and I.T. specialists from Associate to Partner Level. We provide assurance and advisory services to companies across a wide range of industries including Civil Engineering and Food & Beverage the following industry sectors, with clients ranging from start-ups to FTSE 100 entities. A look into your future Our three-year graduate programme is designed to take you on a journey from graduate to professionally qualified. Here's a glimpse of what you'll experience during your first three years:
- Dealing with technical as well as finance professionals discussing science and technologies as well as tax legislation to ensure an optimised and well supported R&D claim
- You'll develop a strong internal and external network to learn from
- Working closely with colleagues to interpret complex legislation and deliver strategic solutions, providing our clients with clear advice and recommendations they can rely on
- On the job learning, alongside a structured training programme
- Time to study and revise for your exams, supported by us all the way to become ATT and then CTA qualified so that you have the technical expertise and insight to advise our clients
- Day to day your role will include liaising with a diverse portfolio of clients, guiding your clients through the R&D regime. Study You'll need to be focused, committed, and organised as a trainee, to balance your study and work requirements. You will be provided with study leave to help you complete your professional qualification but you will also find you need to study in your spare time outside of your working hours.
