Full Job Description

At Tesco, we believe in the power of spending more time together, face to face, than apart. So, during your working week, you can expect to spend 60% of your time in one of our office locations or local sites and the rest remotely. We also recognise that life looks a little different for each of us. Some people are at the start of their careers, some want the freedom to do the things they love. Others are going through life-changing moments like becoming a carer, nearing retirement, adapting to parenthood, or something else. That's why at Tesco, we always welcome a conversation about flexible working. So, talk to us throughout your application about how we can support.

This is great opportunity in one of the biggest client-side teams of Insight colleagues in Europe. The remit of this role is to lead on all Reputational Proposition work (eg: Black History Month, Pride and Stronger Starts) as well as lead our Future Trends work.

The role is varied and fast-paced, with an opportunity to make a real impact to business decision making, identifying new ways to leverage insight to solve business problems. You will use your insight expertise to build positive relationships with colleagues in the Customer Function and work closely with business leaders across the Tesco Group to help define and embed business strategy. You will directly influence key decisions and ensure we put customers at the centre of our business through having a clear understanding of the bigger picture and the priority areas.

You will be responsible for:

Supporting the development of reputation propositions to enhance customer experience, improve our brand perception and help us differentiate versus our competitors, e.g., D&I, PRIDE. Lead the evaluations to identifying key lessons and recommendations
Managing our ongoing customer trends programme of work, ensuring continual engagement with colleagues so that future customer needs are at the heart of decision making. Pro-actively identifying and bringing new insights to improve understanding of the market and customers.
Working with others in the insight team (analysts, researchers, data solutions, agency partners) to create impactful insight deliverables (e.g., presentations, workshops, dashboards).
Developing and maintaining positive relationships with both data and research agencies to deliver compelling foresight to support the business in prioritising long-term strategies. Ensuring we choose the right agencies for the right projects, encouraging cross agency collaboration where appropriate and ensuring briefs are clear and fit for purpose.
Bringing together and leading a dedicated team of an Insight Partner and four Insight executives to be the best they can and deliver change and insight into Tesco
Use data & insight to tell compelling stories, sharing this across the business to deliver actionable recommendations
Support foresight projects with behavioural and survey data to bring the trends to life, with a specific Tesco focus

Number of years experience in an insight function or as a recipient of Insight content e.g.: Planner, Strategist, Brand Owner, Futurist (agency or client-side)
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, where priorities can change regularly
Solid understanding of different insight approaches and tools
Commercial savviness, with a clear understanding of the market we operate in.
Ability to translate requirements into a brief and turn key outputs from projects into strategic recommendations
Adept at project management with a broad experience of working with research and analytical techniques to answer business questions

Our vision at Tesco is to become every customer's favourite way to shop, whether they are at home or out on the move. We're a big business with diverse working patterns and many business areas which means that we can find something that works for you. Everyone is welcome at Tesco.

We have recently announced that we will be moving towards a more blended working week - combining office and remote working. Our offices will continue to be where we connect, collaborate and innovate. Please talk to us to about how this can work for you.
