Full Job Description

Your input will allow us to deliver a wider range of activities to even more young people locally, encouraging them to reach their full potential.

We are looking for an instructor to join our team who has 3+ years prior experience in working with young people. You can join as a uniformed member of our team, or as a non-uniformed member. Prior experience in subjects such as First Aid, Seamanship, Rowing, Powerboating, Paddle sports, Sailing, Mentoring, Education, Youth Development are all greatly beneficial to us. We offer a wide range of activities so your prior skills will always be useful to us! You'll be delivering lessons to groups of young people, on land or on the water if you become a boating instructor, you'll also help with competitions and events around your availability. We're keen to promote Flexible Volunteering around you, whilst we parade twice a week, if you can commit to a certain day each week or each fortnight or just during the Winter months, we'd love to hear from you! As an Independent Charity, recruiting skilled and passionate volunteers to join our team is vital to our mission of Inspiring young people to achieve their potential through challenge and nautical adventure guided by the customs and traditions of today's Royal Navy.What are we looking for?

  • Ability to tailor lessons around individual learning needs
  • Prior experience working or volunteering with young people
  • Ability to listen and support our cadets, Prior experience in subject areas or in teaching, education or youth development are extremely valuable for our cadets to gain a range of qualifications.
