Full Job Description

This role is about conducting proactive intelligence research and producing a range of intelligence products that identify threats and risks and being capable of briefing key stakeholders to escalate issues. You will be part of the Intelligence Team, working closely with other operational colleagues, collating and developing evolving intelligence and delivering an intelligence led approach to the Commission's work.,

  • Conduct reactive intelligence checks through open source and covert research using multiple data sets and sources of information.

  • Interpret information and intelligence, create intelligence logs whilst maintaining databases and intelligence records.

  • Conduct horizon scanning for emerging threats, contributing to strategic, thematic and tactical products by presenting information in line with the policies and procedures of the Commission.

  • Maintain an overview of the whole team's work and supporting them with requests for intelligence products and research against different threats.

  • Participate in project work as directed and be prepared to respond to taking on tasks from other parts of the business to support Regulatory delivery.

  • Build effective and collaborative relationships and communicate with external customers and internal colleagues to ensure that targets and deadlines are met.

  • Handle and process sensitive sources of intelligence, ensuring it's confidentiality, correct recording and dissemination is always safeguarded.

  • Highly flexible and motivated to work on a variety of simultaneous research tasks with the ability to contribute to urgent taskings or work on wider operations projects as directed.

    Essential
  • Ability to analyse information and identify risks, escalating as appropriate with minimal supervision

  • Good understanding of the National Intelligence Model principles

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the Commission

  • Demonstrate effective planning and organisation skills with the ability to recognise and manage priorities.

  • Competence in the use of Microsoft Office suite, the internet and using online research and other open source.

  • Previous experience of working in an intelligence environment

  • An understanding of relevant legislation including Data Protection Act, GDPR and Humans Rights Act

  • Proven analytical skills with ability to summarise and communicate complex information and identify key points.

    Salary of circa £27,000 pa
