Come and join our progressive, innovative critical care team and benefit from working in a modern critical care unit. We are a busy 12 bedded critical care dealing with a wide variety of patients. As a team we are committed to delivering first class care to our patients and on-going professional development of our staff.
We are currently seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated staff to join our proactive team. To apply you will need post registration experience in an acute care setting. Previous ICU experience is desirable but not essential as full training in managing critically ill and high dependency patients will be given.

Main duties of the job
To practice as a safe and competent nurse and provide a high standard of care to patients within the Critical Care Unit. Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide a safe environment and contribute to the continuing development of clinical practice. Develop own clinical expertise, leadership and teaching skills through nursing practice

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Management of the critically ill patient.
2. Actively participate as part of the team in providing a safe unit environment.
3. Develop an extensive knowledge of critical care nursing.
4. Maintain own clinical and professional development in Nursing and participate in performance review annually.
5. Actively participate as part of the team in developing and providing evidence based best practice.
6. To work within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust Policies.
7. Maintain effective communication and professional relationships, at all times, with patients and their relatives, colleagues and other members of the public.
8. Actively listen to concerns or complaints raised by patients/ relatives /carers and report to the nurse in charge or matron.
9. Maintain confidentiality of patients and their relatives at all times.
10. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with NMC and Trust policy, protocols and guidelines.

Candidates are responsible for covering the cost of their own DBS check if required: £18 for a Standard DBS check, recoverable from the first pay, or £38 for an Enhanced DBS check, divided and recoverable over the initial two pay periods.
