The service you will work in….

Our Domestic Abuse Services at Hestia are going through a period of change and so we have a unique opportunity for an Area Manager to join us on an interim basis to provide some additional support.

This role will be predominantly covering our community based services including mobilising and demobilising contracts however due to the ever changing environment there may be a need to support with accommodation based services too. This role will initially be for a period of 6 months. 

A day in this role looks like….

As an Area Manager at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Domestic Abuse Team. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

  • To be a positive member of Hestia's senior operations team, ensuring effective delivery to Hestia's organisational strategy.
  • To contribute to the development of Hestia's strategic objectives and organisational annual planning processes.
  • Developing an Area Plan that links to Hestia's organisational aims and values, ensuring that this is delivered effectively across services.
  • To identify and implement opportunities to improve service delivery in line with achieving required outcomes by developing a SMART annual, integrated business plan for your area.
  • To ensure services use Hestia's policies, procedures and processes to achieve objectives and to contribute to the continuous improvement of these.
  • To work with the New Business and Development Team to identify new business opportunities, inform Hestia's tender submissions and bring new services into management through careful implementation planning and processes in consultation with the to address capacity.
  • To develop professional partnerships with other voluntary and statutory sector providers to inform better practice and develop a collaborative approach to service planning and delivery for a wide range of service users.
  • To ensure that services meet their contractual and legal obligations through an effective programme of scheme audits, and that satisfactory health and safety systems are in place.
  • To work with internal colleagues regarding external messaging to influence and provide solutions at Local and Central level. 
  • To plan, negotiate and manage the budget and ensure that income and expenditure are in line with projected figures and mitigate for any variance.

  • Proven senior track record of success in leading and delivering recovery and trauma informed services in a dispersed organisation.

  • Significant experience of leading operational teams, managing, monitoring, and improving operational performance.
  • Significant success and experience of winning and implementing new business.
  • Experience of managing dispersed teams across multiple sites.
  • Experience of successfully designing and implementing organisational change and service reconfiguration.
  • Experience of business and financial planning and the management of significant budgets.
  • Successful experience of designing and delivering new and innovative service models.
  • Track record of successful experience of complex contract and commissioner negotiations.
  • Significant experience of Housing Management and leading services supporting a breadth of Service User needs.
  • Passionate about the cause and able to inspire and motivate operational staff to achieve our vision.
  • Able to develop, motivate and empower staff and bring out the best in people at all levels.
  • Flexible, agile thinking management style, able to adapt between user led and directive as appropriate.
  • Able to horizon scan, analyse and interpret data, trends and risks and best position the organisation for success.
  • Able to relate to people we support and their families and inspire confidence.
