Full Job Description

The Bonds Origination team is a part of the Capital Markets department within the investment bank that advises, arranges, originates and executes bond financings transactions for corporations, financial institutions, sovereigns and public sector borrowers. Interns in the Commerzbank Bond Origination team will be based in London and assist senior bankers in London and Paris (in addition to collaborating with the teams in Frankfurt and New York) with the preparation of presentations to clients. Furthermore, the intern will be be responsible for projects and daily tasks.
Key Activities
Main responsibilities include analysing market developments, drafting market updates, and assisting in the preparation of analyses of companies to assist in the formulation of the pricing of debt transactions. There are also opportunities to assist in the execution of live deals. The intern will be working in a fast-paced international environment with experienced market professionals with capital markets, investment banking and corporate finance backgrounds.

In that light, whilst we do not target specific degrees, we prefer well rounded individuals with a track record of achievement and strong writing and speaking skills. Equally, a strong familiarity with corporate finance and financial markets is preferred.
+ Graduated in the last 12 months or working towards graduation
+ Expected to or have achieved a minimum 2.1 UK bachelors degree (or equivalent)
+ Minimum 320 UCAS points (or equivalent)
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially excel and word) and Bloomberg
+ Some business knowledge or previous internships within Financial Services but not essential
+ Team player
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Fluent English, German and/or French fluency is preferred, but not required
+ A solid understanding of the principles and concepts of corporate finance and financial markets
+ Applicant must have permission to work in the United Kingdom, for example by a British citizen or having full settled status in the UK
