Full Job Description

The Commerzbank fixed income sales desk covers Rates, SSAs & Credit across Primary and Secondary markets. As an intern you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and insight into a global, client-focused bank. You will work closely with the sales team alongside other key stake holders in the bank including: Relationship Management, Bond Syndicate, DCM, Research and Operations. We will also arrange for the candidate to shadow other banking products to build knowledge of cross-product distribution. The candidate will gain exposure to public pricing and analysis systems such as Bloomberg (the market standard) as well as sales and distribution systems.
Key activities:
+ Hands-on support to the Bond Sales team in London aiding in all necessary tasks as requested. A key part of this would be a 'first in' attitude and preparedness to put in the hours required the get the job done
+ Update and enhance clients' KYC profiles: i.e. gather information required by Commerzbank to establish new accounts and update existing client profiles for KYC/AML 'rolling reviews'; this is a crucial and time-intensive part of the role, requiring excellent attention to detail
+ Preparing detailed sales reports for sales and trading managers as required, for example; to include client 'hit rates' both electronically and by voice on transacted and missed trades
+ Updating individual client information to on board existing and new clients for trading on a range of digital platforms
+ Work with Research and Sales to deliver our Fixed Income capabilities to eligible clients; such as those that have signed for research under MiFID II. Update databases and run gap analysis to broaden distribution across research and fixed income products
+ Further digitise the teams processes and analytics

Support London-based Fixed Income Sales., + Graduated in the last 12 months
+ Achieved a minimum 2.1 UK bachelors degree (or equivalent)
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel and word)
+ A basic knowledge of VBA, or similar, would be an advantage
+ Some business knowledge, or previous internships, within Financial Services useful but not essential
+ Team player
+ Organised
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Fluent English
