Full Job Description
Under the guidance of the Deputy Support Manager (DSM) the post holder will help to:
- provide local HR, IT, and finance services/support/signposting
- provide outstanding administrative provision, ensuring deadlines are met
- provide excellent customer service support, including dealing with complaints and appeals
- ensure correct application of admissions policies. The post holder will work closely with the International Recruitment Team (INTER) and Registry Operations Team (RegOps) and will collaborate with colleagues across the University. This will involve contributing ideas to the development and improvement of systems.,
- Respond promptly and accurately to requests for information and assistance from all customers and stakeholders, including applicants, staff based in academic schools, and staff in central services.
- Supervise the day-to-day operation of the Admissions Support Team, including the allocation of work tasks, production of work schedules, proving pastoral care and feedback through regular 1-2-1s, training and support to staff members where necessary.
- Collaborate with others to make recommendations for improvement of established processes and procedures.
- Using initiative and creativity, contribute to solving complex issues. Specific duties
- Function as the key contact for local HR and finance procedures/policies.
- Support the regular review of admissions policies and procedures.
- Support the Deputy Support Manager in new programme creation and updates within the student records system.
- Update admissions information on the University's internal and external websites .
- Support the DSM to create, update, and deliver a suite of training materials relevant to Admissions Support Team responsibilities.
- Support the successful completion of internal and external audits. General Duties

- To deputise for the Admissions Support Manager and Deputy Manager as required.
- Perform other duties not included above, but which will be consistent with the role., The Admissions Team is responsible for the provision and administration of the University's recruitment process and policies related to admissions. This includes the provision of application processes, decision communication and maintenance of systems related to the admissions process. Admissions plays an essential role in maintaining the reputation of the University through effective communication to the public and to external and internal stakeholders. The Admissions Team has a customer focused approach, and the team represents the University on a corporate level and involves all three academic colleges and constituent Schools. The Admissions Team is responsible for key links with external bodies such as UCAS and the Russell Group and aim to influence admissions practices not only at a local but at a national level. The team works on an evolutionary basis, working flexibly to meet service needs and demands and is committed to providing a world leading applicant experience. As well as primarily working on campus in various locations, there may be occasions where you will be able to undertake remote working (known as blended working). Due to the nature of admissions work there will be key points in the year where leave will be restricted, extended opening hours will be in operation, and occasional weekend working will be required. This will be primarily, but not exclusive to, confirmation and clearing in August and student enrolment and overtime and flexibility will be required during these periods. This role may be an opportunity for you to build on your experience from working in a previous administrative role or environment with particular interest in Higher Education (HE) admissions, fraud prevention, or compliance, showing your transferable skills and aptitude to be successful in the role. You should be enthusiastic about developing your knowledge and skills to become a valued member of the team., 1. Evidence of a high standard of numeracy, literacy, and IT literacy; A levels, NVQ3 or equivalent work-related experience. 2. Evidence of administrative skills, including excellent attention to detail and working to a high degree of accuracy. 3. Evidence of ability to set up standard administrative systems and procedures, and to suggest impactful improvements. 4. Evidence of ability to communicate specialised information in an effective and professional manner, both orally and in writing, to a range of customers with varying levels of understanding. 5. Evidence of ability to explore customer needs and adapt the service accordingly to ensure a consistently high level of service is delivered. 6. Evidence of ability to identify problems and to use initiative and creativity to propose a range of practical solutions. 7. Evidence of ability to work independently, manage own workload and priorities, to plan and undertake project work, and to meet specified deadlines. 8. Evidence of ability to monitor the work of others, to ensure consistent application of policies and standard procedures. 9. Evidence of a commitment to professional development. 10. A willingness to be flexible and open-minded, with a positive and pragmatic approach to change. Desirable Criteria 1. Fluency in Welsh, written and oral. 2. Evidence of ability to advise and influence key stakeholders. 3. Demonstrable knowledge of Higher Education admissions processes. 4. Demonstrable knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
