Full Job Description

Darlington Young Peoplesandrsquo; Engagement and Justice Service (formerly YOS) are seeking a Casual Sessional Worker to provide services to help prevent and reduce crime and disorder by young people as well working with victims of crime.andnbsp; We work with young people to re-shape their perception of themselves and the world by exploring the consequences of their actions; and on the other hand, directing them towards alternative opportunities outside of crime.

We require sessional workers to help us meet the challenge and provide a range of services to young people aged 10-17, inclusive.andnbsp; You will have an awareness of the issues raised by working with young people and an enthusiasm for working with those within the youth justice arena.andnbsp; Experience of working with young people is required. We are specificlly looking for someone able to work during the day interacting with young people from education and then a session following this with a different young person or group.

Your principal responsibilities will be:

Working with young people identified by education providers during the school day, providing off-site interactive PSHE on a 1:1 / 2:1 basis, or assisting another worker with groups of up to 6 young people.andnbsp;

To assist colleagues within the service in the delivery of elements of work as laid out in young peopleandrsquo;s individual plans

andnbsp;

Participate as directed in activities such as physical, skills or reparation projects

andnbsp;

Assist in the running of activity sessions as directed by a designated lead

andnbsp;

Provide feedback regarding engagement of young person/people to the designated lead
