Full Job Description

· Sourcing content and turning it into accessible, digestible stories and series that reach key audiences, driving pride in Network Rail and demonstrating how we’re achieving our vision

· Supporting our intranet, enterprise social media platform (Engage), and email service provider platform. Providing guidance on effective use, and some technical and creative support

· Collaborating with other teams to encourage best use of our platforms for multi-channel communications plans. You'll help them meet their business objectives while delivering an excellent user experience. Think audience targeting, cross-channel sharing, and more!

· Supporting the delivery of communications campaigns and projects to improve internal communications. Improving the user experience across a multi-site organisation with a diverse colleague base

• Using our data analytics platforms to help teams get insights to improve their communications

· Collating periodic analysis of internal digital channels. You'll help track engagement rates and identify trends and potential improvements

As an internal communications manager, you'll source and write content that engages; support management of our digital internal channels mix; and get insights from our comms data to help make things better every time. You’ll combine journalism and writing skills, and a knack for influencing and engaging people at all levels, with some soft technical skills to help make our internal communications best in the industry.

To do well in our team, you'll need to:

• have a journalist outlook to help you source stories from across the organisation

• love creating compelling content that's relevant, useful and interesting, while being on brand, in our tone of voice and accessible

• understand the importance of targeted content and how to deliver it effectively

• be comfortable giving guidance on content and channels at all levels in the organisation

• enjoy working at pace with lots of stakeholders and a variety of tasks

• bring new ideas and challenge our existing ways of working, helping us deliver a better employee experience., · Education to degree level or equivalent qualification or holds a professional qualification in communications or can demonstrate equivalent relevant experience

· Proven experience in successfully shaping and delivering key messages to various audiences and meeting their individual needs

· Ability to provide guidance on communication issues and develop strategies to support business objectives

· Demonstrable excellent written communications skills

· Ability to produce accurate and effective content quickly and to deadlines

· Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills

· Excellent attention to detail

· Demonstrable experience of Office 365 and SharePoint

Desirable Criteria

· Experience in developing digital communications channels. Interest in new, emerging communications tools and how we could use them

· Experience of working in a large multi-site organisation with a diverse colleague base

· Evidence of influencing key decisions at a senior level

· Experience of working with subject matter experts and external suppliers to deliver improvements

· Journalism experience including filming and video editing skills

· Evidence of practical knowledge and use of digital communications channels. SharePoint Online, Microsoft Engage, and PowerBI are essential

· Customer service and collaborative approach mindset, Safe behaviour is a requirement of working for Network Rail. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their awareness of our Safety Vision
