Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you have the skills and experience to develop high-quality service provision with, and for, people querying an autism diagnosis? Then this is the job for you! MPFT are looking for a creative, passionate, innovative, and experienced practitioner psychologist to help develop the adult autism assessment service for people in Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin. You will be helping us to develop the current adult autism assessment service in Telford and Wrekin, and to expand MPFT's adult autism assessment service into Shropshire County. Shropshire has two well established "Autism Hubs"; one in Telford and one in Shrewsbury. Both Hubs are part of the Community, Voluntary and Social Enterprise (CVSE) sector and are partners with MPFT in the delivery of our adult autism assessment offer. You will have close working relationships with colleagues in the Autism Hubs and lead a multi-disciplinary team of practitioners within the adult autism assessment pathway, including other psychologists, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists. There is a separate pathway for diagnosing autism when people have a learning disability.Main duties of the job To ensure the systematic provision and governance of high-quality psychological services across the Adult Autism Assessment Services in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin (STW). To ensure that systems are in place and working effectively for the clinical and professional supervision and support of psychological practice across Adult Autism Assessment Services and other autism specific services within Specialist Care Group. This will require significant expertise in psychological, evidence-based practice relevant to the breadth of our Adult Autism Services' offer including adult autism assessment, psychological interventions for autistic people and differential diagnosis and co-morbidities for neurodivergent people. To provide expert psychological input to own specialist caseload responding to the most severe and complex cases. To provide highly specialist professional consultation, advice, training and guidance on all aspects of psychological practice within adult autism and associated neurodevelopmental services, as agreed. To work in collaboration with other Consultant level psychological staff and the Professional Lead for Psychological Services to contribute to Adult Autism Service's professional, strategic and clinical leadership to assure the continual development and provision of effective psychological services and psychologically informed provision across our Adult Autism services in STW.
