Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a band 7 Sensory Team Leader as a secondment position to work within the Sensory Team to support the Sensory Operational Service Delivery Lead. The post is initially full time but will reduce to 18.75 hours per week after a transition period and will be for an initial period of 12 months. The base will be dependent on negotiations with the appointed candidate. You will lead a group of specialist staff working with those people with the most complex sensory needs as well as supporting colleagues in local generic integrated teams to build their knowledge, competence and confidence in undertaking assessments, reviews, support planning and safeguarding with people living with sensory loss and their families.Main duties of the job The successful applicant with have significant experience of working as a sensory rehabilitation officer and be keen to develop their skills and experience further, especially in relation to leadership and team support. You will be expected to supervise and support team members and to manage performance and quality within the team and need to be flexible and dynamic in your approach. MPFT is an integrated health and social are provider. As the Team Leader for this specialist team, you will be able to effectively support and enable the team members to support health and social care staff across the Trust who need further information, advice and guidance around sensory issues, to ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014, the Equality Act 2010 and the DCB1605 Accessible Information Standard, and also will be developing relationships with key local and national stakeholders, to ascertain co-production goals for multiagency and partnership working leading to improved outcomes for sensory citizens in Staffordshire.
