Full Job Description

The IQA's role is to oversee and ensure the quality of accredited qualifications, identifying improvements in delivery across government-funded contracts. They develop and manage internal assurance processes to comply with regulations, support the retention of direct claim status, and assist in expanding the qualification catalogue. The IQA monitors assessors' work, contributes to self-assessment for quality improvements, and collaborates with internal and external verifiers. Additionally, they collect learner feedback, monitor program delivery quality, and report on changes in quality and compliance trends to ensure a robust teaching, learning, and assessment process.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure internal quality assurance and verification of all qualifications.

  • Monitor and evaluate assessment processes for consistency and compliance.

  • Support trainers/assessors with feedback, skills development, and standardisation.

  • Ensure qualification units meet awarding organisations' requirements.

  • Prepare and document standardisation meetings and sampling plans.

  • Assist with External Verification visits and action follow-ups.

  • Maintain accurate records of IQA activities and support tracking of assessments.

  • Collaborate with the delivery team on improving teaching quality and compliance.

    IQA qualification - Essential

  • Assessing qualification, CAVA, TAQA, A1, or equivalent

  • Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics and English or equivalent

  • PTTLS, DTTLS or equivalent


  • Your Skills & Experience
  • Experience in verifying vocational qualifications to awarding body standards.

  • Embed British Values, PREVENT, and safeguarding in lessons.

  • Proven ability to create effective delivery programs.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

  • Professional, approachable, and maintains learner relationships.

  • Capable of independent work and teamwork; flexible with travel.

  • Committed to personal and organisational development; maintains a professional appearance.

  • Familiarity with Edexcel, NCFE, Ascentis qualifications (Desirable).

  • Experience in the welfare-to-work sector (Desirable).
