Full Job Description

The Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Officer is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of delivery, assessment, and quality assurance are maintained across all training programs. The role involves monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment to ensure compliance with awarding body requirements and regulatory standards.,

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal quality assurance policies and procedures.

  • Conduct regular sampling of assessment decisions to ensure validity, reliability, and fairness.

  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment practices.

  • Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with awarding body requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.

  • Prepare for and manage external quality assurance visits and audits.

  • Maintain accurate records of all quality assurance activities and outcomes.

  • Support and Development:

  • Provide guidance, support, and training to assessors and tutors on best practices in assessment and quality assurance.

  • Conduct standardisation meetings to ensure consistency and continuous improvement.

  • Identify and address areas for improvement and support continuous professional development.

  • Design and develop assessment methods in line with awarding organisation standards.

  • Reporting:

  • Produce regular reports on the quality assurance process, highlighting trends, issues, and recommendations for improvement.

  • Provide feedback to the management team on quality assurance activities and outcomes.

  • Learner Engagement:

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement among learners and staff.

  • Ensure that learner feedback is gathered, reviewed, and used to inform quality assurance processes.

    Must hold a level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, or equivalent) is desirable.

  • Relevant subject-specific qualifications.

  • Experience:

  • Proven experience in an IQA role within a training provider or educational setting.

  • Has a substantial experience of working in or assessing qualifications in project management in construction or domestic retrofit

  • Experience in vocational education and training, preferably within the [specific sector, e.g., healthcare, construction, etc.].

  • Experience of working with awarding bodies and understanding their requirements.

  • Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and principles.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to high standards.

  • Proficient in the use of ICT, including quality assurance systems and Microsoft Office.
