Full Job Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity for internal candidates to MEA Central, for the role of Teaching Assistant Level 4 - Behaviour and Support (Deputy SENCO). This role is expected to start as soon as possible. This is a Grade 5, permanent post working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting pro-rata salary is £24,223. The full time equivalent salary is £28,163. Main purpose of the job:
- To support the strategic development of SEN policy and provision including development of strategies for students and teachers.
- Day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of SEN provision, including liaison with external bodies, families and colleagues.
- Support for pupils with SEN or a disability, including management of resources, working with teachers and evaluating progress.
- Leadership in management and delivery of pastoral support to pupils.
- Ensuring appropriate guidance and supervision is in place for the removal of barriers to learning for SEN students. Key relationships:
- Working closely with the SENCO and Skyline team, and in collaboration with teaching colleagues, to co-ordinate and plan schemes of work to be used by teaching assistants undertaking specified teaching work.
- Contribute to Senior Management Team or Departmental Management Team.
- Line management, supervision of support staff, including implementation of performance management procedures. Working for us Great schools thrive because of the great people in them.
