Full Job Description

Role: Specialist Occupational Therapist - Neuro (Internationally Qualified with HCPC Registration), We're looking for internationally qualified Neuro Occupational Therapist with HCPC registrations to join The Wellington Hospital, currently rated "Good" by the CQC. The Occupational Therapy team plays a vital role across both the acute medical wards and the Neurological rehabilitation wards. This role will be rotational between all wards within The Wellington Hospital, across both the North and South sites. The Neurological Rehabilitation unit consists of a 45-bed unit, split across three wards. Each ward having a speciality area however accepting patients with various neurological conditions across all wards. The specialist wards are Acute Brain Injury/Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Rehabilitation and Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness. The Acute Service covers Intensive Treatment Unit, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Women's Health, Orthopaedics and General Medicine. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to enhance the health and wellbeing of patients at our hospital. You will work closely with other allied health therapists to provide specialist Occupational Therapy intervention targeted at patient's individualised goals. You will be required to use evidence-based client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialise occupational therapy programmes for a complex caseload of adults.   • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration is a MUST
  • Experience in general medicine and/or orthopaedics, cardiology oncology, ICU & Neuro-surgery
  • Experience of assessment and treatment of complex and specialist cases within field of neurological therapy
  • Possess skills for assessing, forming occupational diagnosis and providing treatment to patient caseload
  • CPD evidence of maintaining clinical skills and knowledge through clinical practice and formal education.
  • Demonstrates understanding of complex relationship between physical, cognitive, psychological and social dimensions of illness. Knowledge of current legislation.
  • Ability to conduct appropriate Risk Assessment
  • Experience of supervising staff and students teaching
  • Highly Recommended:
  • Evidence of completion of specialise courses within the field of neurological and stroke therapy
