Full Job Description
- Interpret medical information in clinical settings between patients and Practice/PCN staff
- Support our Reception and Call Centre Teams when speaking to patients about their concerns
- Signpost patients to appropriate services according to their needs
- Follow our patient pathway when assisting with care navigation
- Integrate accurately and quickly in real time without leaving out or changing any information that is being communicated
- Work with our health and wellbeing tea to assist on projects to help tackle health inequalities
- Complete training in modules such as safeguarding of children and adults, care navigation and GDPR among others.
Lister House Surgery are looking for an in-house Interpreter to help support our Slovak and Czech patient population. Our interpreters help clinicians in Face to Face appointments and ensure that our patients have equal access to care. They may also help out on Reception at peak times, supporting Slovak and Czech speaking patients, educating them on local care navigation and the different services which our practices provide. We are looking for somebody with excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, a punctual and professional work ethic and somebody who genuinely wants to make a difference in our community at Pear Tree. The role holder must have some experience interpreting, be comfortable with medical terminology and be fluent in both Slovak/Czech and English. An interpreting qualification is essential (as outlined in the Job Description), however the Practice will be willing the right candidate through this.
