Sandwell Academy is looking for a dedicated Intervention Education Centre (IEC) Manager to join our team. About Us At Sandwell Academy, we are guided by our core values: be brave, be kind, be proud. Recently, our new welfare system has reduced suspensions by promoting restorative practices and targeted interventions. Our IEC Manager plays a key role in this approach, helping students reflect on their actions and supporting their reintegration into the classroom. The Role As our IEC Manager, you will:
- Supervise and support students in the Intervention Education Centre, ensuring a calm, respectful, and structured environment.
- Work with students one-on-one to help them reflect on their behaviour and develop strategies for improvement.
- Support students on a reintegration plan, preparing them for a successful transition back into their regular classes.
- Organise work for students in line with their daily timetable, ensuring they stay engaged with their curriculum.
- Update Heads of Year on students' daily progress, providing essential insights for ongoing support.
- Collaborate with pastoral, welfare, and teaching teams to create individualised plans for each student.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate with staff, students, and parents regarding progress and support.
- Foster a positive, restorative approach to behaviour that aligns with our school values. Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in a pastoral, behaviour management, or similar role within an educational setting.
- Demonstrates empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Can maintain a calm and positive approach when working with challenging behaviour.
- Has excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
