Intervention Learning Support Mentor Permanent, 11.5 hours per week, term time only plus INSETS, remunerated at BET Grade 4 A-E (£26,918 - £29,616 FTE) Actual salary £7,272 (starting salary) - £8,001 Are you an outstanding Learning Support Practitioner looking for an exciting new opportunity? We are looking for individuals to join our friendly, supportive team working primarily with our SEND students, helping them to access the national curriculum as well as wider school activities. This is a rewarding role helping young people to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will be providing support for EHCP students, and other students with SEND by supporting them in class, in small group interventions, or 1:1, ensuring that staff and parents are fully informed of each student's progress. You're the right fit for this role if you have:

  • A flexible attitude to react to different situations throughout the school day and the ability to use your own initiative within the learning environment.
  • Have a clear understanding of the four strands of SEND as set out in the code of practice, namely Cognition and Learning, Communication and Interaction, Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Sensory and/or Physical Needs.
  • Experience of working calmly under pressure
  • The ability to communicate effectively with anyone, especially young people, and work effectively both on your own and within a team.
  • Have experience working in a classroom setting.
  • Maths and English GCSE Grade 4 or above (or equivalent).
