Whether you are an experienced interventional radiographer or looking to step into this rewarding specialty, we'll provide the support and training you need to thrive. We can offer:

  • Modern innovations: Work with the latest interventional technology including a hybrid operating suite.
  • Career Development: Tailored training and opportunities to expand your skills, with pathways to extended roles such as nephrostomy catheter changes, barium swallows, and hysterosalpingograms.
  • Collaborative Team: Be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in patient care.
  • Varied Case Load: Gain experience across a range of specialties, including vascular, trauma, oncology, hepatobiliary, nephrology, gastrointestinal, paediatrics, and obstetrics., This is primarily a clinical role with a degree of first line management appropriate to address service needs. The post-holder will be primarily based in Interventional radiology, providing leadership and specialist expertise within the area and may be required to work in other areas/modalities as part of a rota. This is a development role with an expectation to reach a level of seniority. Depending on level of experience at entrance, the post-holder will initiate as a Band 5. Completion of a development package will qualify in gaining a Band 6 position.
  • Following an extensive preceptorship programme, the post-holder will be expected to deliver a high quality, effective and efficient radiographic service to the highest professional standards. The role is to provide clinical excellence and manage the day to day organisation of the area whilst providing effective and efficient leadership.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030). We have four primary goals:
  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence
  • And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities. Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team
  • This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
