We are currently looking for an Inventory Control Manager working Monday to Friday (with flexibility around peak times) to join our team in Burton Upon Trent. We are offering a salary of up to £38,584.00 depending on experience.

Main purpose of job

  • Ensure the operation is managed efficiently and safely during the shift, ensuring that all targets and budgets are met in accordance with agreed SLA's with the Customer requirements.

  • To support the Cluster Manager is maintaining an efficient and effective cluster inventory team.


  • Key tasks and responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership to Team Leaders and Champions in all aspects of the operation whilst being a positive role mode

  • Manage storage capacity and plan for operational requirements against forecast and demand, assist in the management of mitigation for capacity issues with stock moves.

  • Manage costs within budget and SLA agreed with the customer.

  • Communicate openly, motivate and inspire, and lead a positive and engaging work environment.

  • Support continuous improvement, leading and participating in working parties to involve and engage staff, with an aim to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Have full involvement in their implementation and success

  • Maintain and enforce company policies and be responsible for your teams to do the same whilst managing people issues on shift.

  • To Identify issues, and opportunities, analyse cause and effect, practically solve problems and implement corrective actions.

  • Maintain all aspects of stock integrity and ensure ownership of activities and resolutions

  • To ensure that the correct systems and mechanisms are in place to accurately record, monitor and maintain inventory levels.

  • To review data and use this information to advise on strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures

  • To set and meet high standards in terms of hygiene and Health and Safety, managing breaches in line with Company policy

  • To set and meet stretching team KPIs to maximise profitability

  • To build meaningful relationships with the Clients, ensuring Bleckmann remains their third party of choice

  • To foster a positive working environment through regular communication with the team, providing feedback; encouraging ideas, developing skills, understanding concerns and celebrating success

  • To carry out other duties as required by the site management team or Cluster Manager.

    Customer Facing experience

  • Experience of operating in a similar role together with proven track record of managing people in line with Company ER Policies and Procedures.

  • Experienced in Health & Safety requirements, ILM Certificate in Leadership & Management, Level 3, (desirable)

  • Computer literate, experience of WMS systems and MS Office packages including a firm understanding and strong use of Excel., Understands our business, our market and how we operate within it. Is aware of how our teams work together to achieve business targets. Curious to know and build their understanding of the business.

  • Keeping up to date with external development relevant to their role. Brings fresh thinking and new ideas to drive individual & team performance.

  • Uses knowledge & judgement to make decisions. Understands the impact of their decisions and knows when to check or consult with others. Takes ownership of their decisions and sees things through.
