Inventory Planner - Projects The role of the Inventory Planner - Projects requires someone who possess excellent analytical, communication and problem - solving skills, as well as a strong understanding of supply chain and inventory principles and practices. Reporting directly to Head of Planning, this role carries a significant degree of authority, autonomy, and organisation, as you become a bridge between key company stakeholders. Working closely with the Program and Project Management team, the Inventory team, the Planning team, and Manufacturing Engineer team, you shall ensure that new products are introduced to the market in a timely and efficient manner. Being able to create strong collaborative relationships with cross functional teams and stakeholders is pivotal in this position. Brompton has recently launched its new ERP, which enables us to deploy significant business process changes. You will work with the Supply Chain, NPI (New Projects Introduction) team, and Manufacturing Engineer teams to coordinate the launch of new products from a supply chain perspective, making sure that the business has the relevant stock to support projects, without carrying excess inventory that can tie up cash flow and increase storage costs. Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the BOM team and Manufacturing Engineer team, creating scenario supporting RFQ and ramp up and down for new products, in line with Spec sheets, Planning Bill of Materials (PBoM) and business cases.Develop and maintain Planning related Product Introduction processes.
  • Participate to New Product Meetings (Specials, CR/CN, projects, etc.) gathering and and completing planning related actions.
  • Dispatch project related information to Production Planning, Production Buying, Bike Planning and P&A Planning and review feasibility of actions.
  • Establish from our NPI process, all Planning interactions and build a Planning project plan to ensure thorough cross functional communication.
  • Support BOM team to identify and validate appropriate components and materials for inclusion in the BOM.
  • Assess the impact of the new product introduction on the current supply demand and production plans.
  • Coordinate with the Production and Demand Planners to ensure a favourable and efficient plan supporting both Commercial and Operation objectives.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels for new products, ensuring adequate stock to meet the project requirements while maintaining healthy inventory.
  • Recommend slow moving inventory items and options for new projects and work alongside BOM and NPI team to reduce inventory.
  • Advance Planning System
  • Increase MRP/APS accuracy by ensuring stakeholders participation in maintaining BOM accuracy, parameters, and all other inputs up to date on new parts and distressed stock.
  • Inventory & Capacity
  • Provide input on the production capacity needed to support the new products introductions. Collaborate with the Production and Supply Planning team to determine the feasibility of meeting the demand and identify any potential capacity constraints that need to be addressed.
  • Analyse the lead times for the new products and assess the impact on the overall supply chain.
  • Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
  • Actively participate in S&OP process step 3 (Supply review) to communicate potential risks and opportunities associated with the supply of the new products.
  • Develop current and projected inventory reports to feed S&OP process with sufficient data to enable trade off.
  • Others
  • Prepare and create reports in Excel and Power BI
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement related to data accuracy, policies, and systems.
