Full Job Description

The Nest Invest risk team is currently looking to recruit a permanent Investment Risk & Performance Manager to own the production of performance and risk analysis for all asset classes and the overall member portfolios. The incumbent will provide independent collaborative challenge, highlighting areas of market risk concentrations and sources of returns, while affording quantitative support to the investment process. This is a newly created role in a newly created risk function in Nest Invest and will report to the Head of Investment Risk The Investment Risk & Performance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Production of investment risk and performance analytics, monitoring and reporting for all relevant stakeholders.
  • Development and maintenance of appropriate analysis, models and systems.
  • Providing analysis and insights to support the investment process.
  • Monitoring of portfolios against internally created guidelines.
  • Leading regular performance and risk meetings providing independent collaborative challenge, escalating as appropriate.
  • Working with junior members of the team and IT to implement enhanced performance and risk analytical models, systems and automated workflows.
  • Working with external risk and performance service providers.

  • From December 2019, the Nest Investment team was seconded into Nest Invest Ltd (Nest Invest), the investment subsidiary of Nest Corporation. Nest Invest Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

  • Relevant experience within asset management/investment management.
  • Experience of financial markets, the investment process, and financial instruments.
  • Experience covering both private and public market investments.
  • Knowledge of risk modelling techniques for multi-asset portfolios (e.g. Aladdin).
  • Knowledge of performance and attribution calculations for multi-asset portfolios.
  • Good understanding of investment accounting and investment data, including accounting systems.
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Aladdin and Cepres an advantage
  • Good systems and technical experience, programming capabilities desirable.
  • Eager to continue learning with an interest in developing a holistic understanding of multi-asset investing.
