Full Job Description

As an Investments Analyst you will support and strengthen our investment management capabilities. You will enhance risk-adjusted returns for an increasing number of clients, and - just as importantly - give them confidence and clarity about how we do it. WHY JOIN US? This is a unique opportunity to work closely with Head of Investments, helping them to grow our successful investments business into a paragon of client-centric, rational wealth management. If you are an original thinker with a passion for investments this role will really kick-start your career. Benefits include (but are not limited to) private medical insurance, 25 days' annual leave (rising to 28 days with length of service), enhanced maternity and paternity leave, income protection, life assurance, and pension. For the full range of benefits please see https://www.weatherbys.bank/about-us/careers/employee-benefits/. Working from our stunning offices in Mayfair, you will have the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week. WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE

  • Contributing to ongoing improvements in how we both manage and communicate our investment portfolios.
  • Participating in both annual index fund selection and discretionary portfolio manager due diligence reviews.
  • Creatively conjecture and criticise improvements to our asset allocation optimisation methodology.
  • Working on the development of new investment options for clients as they arise.
  • Calculating and reporting on model portfolio performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Explaining developments in financial markets to both clients and colleagues.
  • Responding to questions from clients and colleagues on a variety of investment topics.

A genuine interest and drive to progress a career within investments.
  • A graduate with a strong academic background.
  • Adept at Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Good knowledge of economic theory and of how capital markets work.
  • Knowledge of basic financial mathematics, such as risk metrics like volatility and peak-to-trough decline, and bond yield calculations.
  • Some experience of coding, preferably in object-oriented languages akin to Python, including pandas and SciPy libraries.
  • CFA Charter holder or willing to actively work towards it.
