Full Job Description

Our Investor Relations team manage the communication of company strategy and performance with investors and city analysts through formal quarterly financial announcements and annual reporting (financial, non-financial and sustainability); as well as year-round interactions ranging from one-on-one meetings to conferences and roadshows. We work closely with our leadership team and specialist colleagues to tell the Tesco story to both current and prospective investors. To do this, we harness the knowledge and expertise of our teams across the business to gain a clear view of Tesco performance and business priorities. We also maintain an in depth understanding of how the external world views Tesco, which enables us to feed external perspectives back into the business.

This role offers the opportunity to gain a comprehensive knowledge of the Tesco Group with exposure to senior colleagues across the business. It involves both independent objectives as well as delivering work as part of a broader team.

This is a 9 month fixed term contract covering a lifestyle break.

At Tesco, we believe in the power of spending more time together, face to face, than apart. So, during your working week, you can expect to spend 60% of your time in one of our office locations or local sites and the rest remotely. We also recognise that life looks a little different for each of us. Some people are at the start of their careers, some want the freedom to do the things they love. Others are going through life-changing moments like becoming a carer, nearing retirement, adapting to parenthood, or something else. That's why at Tesco, we always welcome a conversation about flexible working. So, talk to us throughout your application about how we can support.

You will be responsible for:

Work as part of a high performing team to deliver quarterly external results materials, including drafting materials, providing supporting information and analysis and collaborating closely with finance and business teams
Work cross-functionally to gather insight on key topics of interest for input as part of results announcements and discussions with internal and external colleagues.
Build and maintain positive relationships with teams across the business to keep a good understanding of key priorities for the business and progress against them
Monitor incoming queries and notes, for example from investors or sell side analysts, and respond on a timely basis in line with IR policies
Review Group forecasts and performance, highlighting areas of interest
Share and review analyst consensus submissions and identify and explain areas of focus to discuss with analysts and internally
Monitor and maintain external company touch points such as landing pages and fact sheets
Produce briefing documents and packs for senior management as required, and input into corporate access calendar
Communicate market sentiment to colleagues including presenting consensus outcomes to key Group finance teams and showcasing the breadth of IR responsibilities
Attend external and internal courses, meetings and events as appropriate

Investor Relations and/or financial accounting experience
Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to influence at a senior level
Collaborative approach and able to work as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
