Full Job Description

We're looking for a driven Investor Relations Manager to join the Investor Relations (IR) team. Working closely with our business units and other internal stakeholders the team are focused on developing and communicating our investment proposition in exciting and innovative ways.

This role focuses on creating and delivering content for financial results and investor events, acting as a key interface with buy side investors and sell side analysts, and supporting Executives at investor events. It also involves collaboration with external advisors including our corporate brokers and media advisors, alongside building a network of influence internally.,

  • Lead and input into key designated areas of Investor Relations activity, including shaping investor marketing activities; development of materials for year end and half year results announcements including the results statement; producing insightful monthly reports for the Board and Executive team; regular investor meetings (UK, US and Europe) and site visits.

  • Lead on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) related matters for shareholders, working closely with the Chief Sustainability Officer and ESG reporting teams.

  • Develop a strong network of internal relationships to ensure that the Investor Relations team remain current with activity across the business units to support the development of investor messaging.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of all communications for the investor community including results announcements, presentations, and capital markets days.

  • Support the team in monitoring developments in the share register as well as share price performance, producing analysis to explain movements and trends.

  • Liaise and collaborate with Group Corporate Affairs, Communications teams, and Business Units to help ensure co-ordination and effective communications management.

  • Engage and consult with the company's corporate brokers, as required.

  • Support and develop the Investor Relations 12 month rolling plan, actively identify areas where the Investor Relations team needs to develop and adapt its IR plan and strategy.

  • Support the communication of the Investor Relations strategy, activities, and value proposition across National Grid internally through planned communications, teach in's and townhalls.

  • Develop an up-to-date knowledge of equity market influences and developments and help ensure National Grid is positioned to respond to market developments accordingly.

    Educated to degree level or equivalent Financial qualification highly desirable (e.g. CFA /ACA / CIMA / ACT).

  • Practical and demonstrable experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • + Experience of working in an investor relations team.
    + Interpreting and reporting financial information and understanding of IFRS.
    + Experience of the investor community gained from an in-house IR, communications, banking, or other significant stakeholder facing environment.
  • Understanding of equity capital markets (ideally in the Utility and Power, or Energy sectors) desirable.

  • Experience in reviewing, interpreting, and distilling complex business and financial information for a variety of audiences.

  • Experience of presenting to a wide range of audiences.

  • Strategic thought leadership with the ability to turn that thinking into a clear vision and executable plan.

  • Ability to influence others, including senior stakeholders.

  • Excellent networking and collaboration skills - able to use that network to effectively communicate our investor proposition and keep up to date with internal newsflow.

  • Ability to bring creative and innovative approaches to IR communications.
