Full Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented Invoice Matching Manager to oversee our Supplier Invoice Matching service. In this position, you'll ensure that all supplier invoices are meticulously validated and verified, enabling accurate and timely processing. Your efforts will help Co-op meet its regulatory and contractual payment obligations efficiently while upholding essential financial controls. Leading a team of 7x Invoice Matching Members, you'll also be leading initiatives to improve processing efficiency, enhance first-time flow rates, and reduce costs, all while maintaining key creditor balance sheet controls. You'll also manage the financial control balance sheets for GRNI (Goods Receipt Not Invoiced) and play a critical role in identifying risks and opportunities within the invoice matching process, ensuring we adhere to best practices and the required regulatory framework. Join us in driving excellence and efficiency in our financial operations, and be part of a team committed to achieving outstanding results for Co-op. What you'll do

  • Develop a strategic plan with a 3-6 month horizon, prioritising annual improvements and identifying key opportunities for growth, along with actionable recommendations for the business.
  • Oversee the daily, weekly, and monthly operations of the team, employing strong leadership skills to empower team members to achieve their annual targets based on historical performance data.
  • Take charge of resource planning for your team, ensuring optimal allocation to meet operational demands.
  • Engage with key customers and suppliers as needed to foster strong relationships and address any concerns.
  • Ensure seamless management of the service in the absence of the Operations Manager, maintaining efficiency and continuity across all operations.

Expertise in Invoice Matching protocols and standards, with strong knowledge of GRNI balance sheet and finance processes.
  • Part-qualified in CIMA/ACCA/ACA or AAT, or substantial relevant experience in transactional processing teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and influencing skills with a results-oriented, customer-focused approach.
  • Strong communication abilities at all levels, fostering effective collaboration.
  • Proven team management experience, capable of motivating and inspiring team members while building trusting relationships.

At Co-op, we're proud to do things a different way. As one of the world's largest co-operatives, owned by millions of members, community is at the heart of what we do. Since our Co-op was founded in 1844, we've had a clear social purpose, and everything we do as a business helps to build a fairer world for our members, customers, colleagues, and communities.
  • We're actively building diverse teams and we welcome applications from everyone. If you have a disability, we can make reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process according to your needs. We're also part of the Disability Confident scheme, meaning we'll always offer an interview to disabled candidates who apply through the scheme if they meet the minimum criteria for a job. We'll ask whether you'd like to be considered under the Disability Confident scheme when you apply. If we invite you to take part in the recruitment process for any of our jobs, we'll ask you if you need any reasonable adjustments to enable you to participate.

As a Co-op colleague, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services). You'll also get:
  • Private healthcare

  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
