Full Job Description

Deputise for the HoN/Deputy Director for Infection Prevention and Control as required.

Provide expert advice and support to staff and patients across the organisation to ensure the highest standards of infection prevention and control are maintained.

Together with the HoN/Deputy DIPC responsible for the day to day operational management of the Infection Prevention & Control strategy, policies and annual programme of work and ongoing development and evaluation of strategies at Trust and Divisional level.

Provide professional leadership and line management to junior members of the IPC team and ensuring training needs analysis is completed for each team member to align with their professional development.

Contribute through their knowledge and professionalism, to the continual evolution and improvement of the Infection Prevention & Control service and the reputation of the Trust as a leader in the delivery of integrated infection prevention and control and patient safety.

Provide effective, visible leadership that fosters a culture of professionalism, compassion, excellence and quality improvement including the development of effective team working and maintaining clinical expertise., Work collaboratively with the other senior ICNs to provide management and leadership to the IPC team and overseeing projects and , supporting the junior members of the team.

Deputise for the Head of Nursing, for Infection Prevention and Control as required.
