Join our friendly and ambitious IT Asset Management team at Addleshaw Goddard! We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Software Licencing Specialist. If you have 2-3 years of experience in Software Asset Management and are looking to take the next step in your career, this role could be perfect for you.
In this position, you will be responsible for managing software assets and handling Azure invoicing. You'll work closely with our Senior Asset Management team to develop and refine processes, and you'll be actively involved in ongoing discussions around Azure-related projects.   • Understanding of Azure Billing, Subscriptions and other Azure related elements and how they fit together for reviewing invoices

  • Understanding of licence models, datacentre, cloud and EUC environments

  • Establishing key relationships with suppliers and stakeholders

  • Audit of licences, mobile contracts to ensure all unused licences/numbers are re-harvested/disconnected.

  • Knowledge and hands on experience with IT Asset Management tools such as Service-Now, Nexthink, etc to assist with auditing software

  • Engagement with technology teams to turn asset trends and asset requirements into usable data, aiding decision making

  • Understand the software deployed across the estate, the required licence needs and ensuring we are compliant from a licencing, legal and contractual aspect

  • To define the strategy and production of an effective licence position

  • Experience in end to end Software Asset Management ownership

  • Assist with the review and improvement on current Software Asset Management processes and policies.

  • Define and deploy new Software Asset Management processes across a continually shifting estate as and when required

  • Drive continuous improvement using Software Asset Management best practices over the full life cycle of the assets, ensuring regular audits are completed on non-standard software, to allow reuse before purchase.

  • Build and maintain close working relationships with IT business partners and internal audit teams to ensure alignment to group standards and policies

  • Vendor management and escalations

  • Active involvement in the companies low spend software process, ensuring all end to end processes are completed for any newly approved software, this includes but is not limited to, ensuring all software is packaged, and software monitoring is setup for each new application.

  • Being aware of licencing and version control, working with key teams to ensure all software is on the correct version and retiring any older versions where required

  • Assisting other team member with more complex licence queries, being the key contact for escalations to help provide solutions in a timely manner

  • Involvement, when required in client and internal audits

  • Ability to demonstrate experience in the above areas

    Proactively identifies areas for improvement, shares lessons learned with colleagues and encourages others to do the same

  • Any experience with Azure related billing would be advantageous

  • Knowledge and experience of administering IT Asset Management Tools, such as Service Now

  • Customer focused with a passion and drive to deliver customer satisfaction and value to the business

  • Ability to handle concurrent tasks with appropriate priority

  • Understand of the ITIL framework, particularly around Software Asset Management,

  • Ability to work independently and interact with project and support teams effectively

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills that enable working relationships to be developed at all times

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment

  • Experience in audits

  • Experience in software licencing is essential
